Forward Tempo: Drone suppression extends beyond jamming and individual interceptions

Russia is combining drone strikes with remote mining to keep supply routes dangerous between attacks. Around Kostyantynivka, Molniya drones and fiber-optic FPVs are routinely striking Ukrainian logistics, while mining adds hazards that remain after the drones leave.

In parallel, jet drones are becoming mission-specific and taking on complementary roles within strike packages. During a paired attack near Kyiv, a Geran-4 relayed communications and recorded a Geran-5’s impact before striking a warehouse itself. This configuration lets a supporting drone remain a strike threat after completing its relay task, enabling its role to change during the engagement.
