Advanced Chinese UAVs Show Up in Sudan

Satellite imagery shows the Chinese BZK-005E MALE drone deployed at Nyala Airport, which is controlled by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The platform’s ‘E’ variant is designed specifically for export, with a range of 2,400 km. It can carry up to 370 kg, including missiles, giving it strike or self-defense capability. The platform is also equipped with electronic intelligence (ELINT) equipment, with electro-optical and synthetic aperture radar payloads. The UAV’s appearance strongly indicates that the RSF has likely acquired a long-endurance ISR capability, while China could be operationally testing its drones in Sudan for product development.
